In February Stockholm Skavsta Airport commence the next investment project of approx. MSEK 40 - a two-storey guarded and heated indoor parking lot near the terminal with room for almost 700 cars. The construction is to be ready at the end of the summer and will involve 30-40 builders including sub-suppliers.

A building permit covering the re-building of the Sveaverken/Odin property will be submitted to Nyköping Municipality this week. The property is located approx. 100 m from the terminal and is today occupied by the tenant Sveaverken/Odin. They will however, vacate the 9 000 m2 premises in February to move to Katrineholm. Thereafter Skanska, together with the Carlstedt's Architects, will start preparing the construction.

The indoor parking will have a built-in walk way binding together the parking and shorten the walking distance between the present long-term parking and the passenger terminal. The indoor parking lot is already included in the new expansion and master plan of the area. Geographically and construction wise the property is well suited for its new role considering the future expansion of the airport. A heating garage offers more parking alternatives and better service for the passengers. When the construction is ready, Stockholm Skavsta Airport will have a total of 2 700 parking spaces.
