Strong April
Published: 07 May 2009
215 495 persons flew via Stockholm Skavsta during the month of April. This was an increase of 10.6% compared to April 2008.
A direct comparison is however somewhat misleading as Easter, passenger wise is a strong holiday at Skavsta, fell in April 2009, but in March 2008.
The first four months of the year, the passenger figure has decrease by 4.7 % compared with the previous year and a total of 706 681 persons flew during the period January-April.
"Relatively seen this is a very good result as the effect of the recession in Swedish aviation is considerably worse. We believe that in troubled times the low fare airlines come out as winners", says Dot Gade Kulovuori, Managing Director, Stockholm Skavsta Airport.
During the month, Ryanair opened three new destinations from Skavsta: Toulon, Majorca and Zadar.
