Negative Covid test required before travelling to Sweden
The Swedish Government has announced that new regulations will be introduced from the 6th February 2021 regarding a requirement that all foreign citizens must present a negative Covid test when entering Sweden. The test must have been done within 48 hours prior to arrival. Anyone who cannot present a valid negative test will be rejected at the border.
The requirement is being introduced to reduce the risk of spreading different virus variants and applies to all foreign citizens over the age of 18, with a few exemptions.
Swedish citizens always have the right to travel to Sweden, but are encouraged to take a Covid test on the same day as they arrive, plus another test 5 days later, and to self-isolate for 7 days after arrival.

Entry checks are carried out by the Police.
These regulations are valid from 6 February until 31 March 2021.
