Stockholm Skavsta prepares for strong summer
Bringing more positive mobility: 2 new destinations available from Stockholm Skavsta airport, 3rd largest airport of Sweden: Pristina and Sarajevo .
Wizz Air is keeping investing into Stockholm Skavsta with a 4th new destination for the Summer: Sarajevo, Bosnia Herzegovina.
Stockholm Skavsta is pleased to welcome a third airline partner for the Summer as well as another brand-new destination: Pristina, Kosovo.
A new COVID testing center has opened at nearby Connect Hotel allowing rapid and efficient testing before travel.
Stockholm Skavsta welcomed a 4th firefighter-based aircraft, contributing to Sweden´s and European emergency preparedness plan.
Wizz Air announced today its 16th destination at Stockholm Skavsta airport: Sarajevo, capital of Bosnia Herzegovina: The new service will be operated twice weekly on Mondays and Fridays, starting 18th June (updated start date). Wizz Air has established, earlier this year, a new base at Sarajevo International Airport, enabling the launch of the new point-to-point traffic.
This is the 4th new Wizz Air route launched from Stockholm Skavsta this summer. Last week the brand new Wizz Air route to Tirana in Albania was inaugurated, and in June the new routes to Riga and Banja Luka open.
NEW AIRLINE PARTNER
Stockholm Skavsta will be linked with another brand-new destination this Summer: Pristina, capital of Kosovo. The new service will be operated twice weekly on Mondays and Fridays operated by Trade Air on behalf of Mywings Aviation starting 6th June (updated start date). The flight is also supported by a group of Tour Operators. Tickets are bookable via www.flyrbp.com; www.airmunich.eu; www.mysky24.com websites. It is important milestone for the airport as Trade Air will be the 3rd airline to operate to Stockholm Skavsta since many years.
Stockholm south region has a large share of residents with roots in the Balkan region such as Bosnia and Kosovo in particular, Stockholm Skavsta airport remains the perfect gateways for people to meet family and friends as soon as travel will resume progressively across Europe and beyond. Stockholm Skavsta will offer a total of 27 destinations this Summer.
To support people’s mobility, a new COVID testing center has opened this month at Stockholm Skavsta Airport, at the Connect Hotel situated just across the road from the airport terminal, where passenger can get COVID-19 tests and travel certificates. The test center is operated by LäkarintygDirekt.
Supported by VINCI Airports teams, the airport has taken all measures to make travellers safe, including obligatory face masks for both passengers and staff in the terminal and onboard the aircraft, hand sanitizers available all over the airport, floor stickers to help keeping social distancing and plexiglass at counters and gates, providing a safe customer journey through the airport.
SWEDEN’S PREPAREDNESS STILL STRONGER
The third and fourth MSB fire fighter aircraft recently arrived to be based at SAAB at Stockholm Skavsta Airport. The first two fire fighters arrived in the summer of 2020 and played a significant role in several firefighting missions last year. MSB decided earlier this year to buy two further fire fighters, and they are now delivered to SAAB at Stockholm Skavsta Airport. With these in total four fire fighters, model Air Tractor-802F FireBoss, the Swedish and European preparedness for the fire season is better than ever.
